Tuesday, November 4, Book Review: Fearless Eric Blehm I usually keep Tuesdays post-free on my blog, but every so often, perhaps once or twice a month, there will be an extra book review surprise, surprise. Let it never be said that I take for granted for one second, one breath, the freedom I and my fellow countrymen stateside have been afforded by the selflessness, sacrifice, dedication, and commitment of the members of the United States military, past and present, who work so tirelessly on our behalf. Navy SEAL Team SIX Operator Adam Brown , killed in Afghanistan in March , is a man whose valor, honor, integrity, strength, character, and courage remain powerfully inspirational, and whose unhesitating sacrifice and unwavering faith strengthened his brothers in arms and his family and friends long after his death. Marijuana became cocaine became crack, and before long, he was stealing from his own family members and friends just to get high again. Two stints in rehabilitation facilities finally left him clean and sober, and only months later, he met Kelley, his future wife.

FEARLESS is the intimate story of a devoted man who was an unlikely hero but a true warrior, described by all who knew him as just that—fearless. By the time he reaches middle school, Adam and his family have returned to Arkansas. Adam is a regular teenage boy — he excels at football and does crazy things like jumping off a local bridge for fun. While Adam is a hard worker, he goes down the path of drug addiction and later ends up in jail.
He later accepts Christ as his Savior and finally beats his habit with the help of his wife, Kelley, who keeps him strong. Adam becomes one of the best of the best — an operator for SEAL Team Six, a Black Ops division that boasts some of the most highly trained men in the military. There were parts of this book that made me sad and discouraged and other parts that were encouraging and hopeful. I received this book from the Blogging For Books in exchange for my review. I was not required to write a favorable review, and all opinions are my own.

Book Review: Fearless by Eric Blehm
Read this book. It succeeds where all the others have failed. Kind-hearted and wild, Adam led a life that lacked direction. God, a woman, and the U. Navy gave it to him. There is no greater love than that a man lay down his life for his friends. Adam Brown never had to worry.

In a deeply personal and absorbing chronicle, Fearless reveals a glimpse inside the SEAL Team SIX brotherhood, and presents an indelible portrait of a highly trained warrior whose final act of bravery led to the ultimate sacrifice. Adam Brown was a devoted man who was an unlikely hero but a true warrior, described by all who knew him as…fearless. Read this book. It succeeds where all the others have failed. An undersized daredevil, prone to jumping off roofs into trees and off bridges into lakes, Adam was a kid who broke his own bones but would never break a promise to his parents. But after high school, Adam fell in with the wrong crowd, and his family watched as his appetite for risk dragged him into a downward spiral that eventually landed him in jail. Battling his inner demons on a last-chance road to redemption, Adam had one goal: to become the best of the best—a U.
